Door Prize (the “Contest”)
Official Rules and Regulations (the “Contest Rules”) of
Oak Leaf Interiors Inc. (“Contest Sponsor”)
1. THE CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest entry period commences at May 18, 2018 and concludes at 11:59 p.m. AST July 3, 2018 (the “Contest Period”).
The Contest is open to legal residents of Nova Scotia, who, as at the start of the Contest Period, have reached the age of 19 or over except employees of Oak Leaf Interiors Inc. and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organization or judging of the competition.
3. HOW TO ENTER
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

The Contest will be run via Facebook and Instagram.
The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
The first 100 entrants who complete the following steps will receive a Prize consisting of a free 750ml can of Farrow & Ball paint:
- Entrant must like Oak Leaf Interiors and Farrow & Ball on Instagram and/or Facebook, ensuring that privacy settings allow The Sponsor to view these details,
- Entrant must comment on a Contest post on Facebook and/or Instagram with the name of the Farrow & Ball colour they would like to use for their front door by June 9, 2018
To qualify for the Grand Prize, entrants must:
- Post a before and after picture of their front door by July 3, 2018, using the hashtag #OakLeafDoorPrize, tag Oak Leaf Interiors and Farrow & Ball, and ensure that privacy settings allow The Sponsor to view this content.
Closing date for entry will be July 3, 2018. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
Failure to complete the above steps may result in disqualification to be determined in Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion.
The only method of entry for this Contest is online entry (internet access required). Although online access and a Facebook or Instagram account are required in order to participate, no purchase is required in order to enter the Contest. Many public libraries, retail businesses and others offer free access to computers and these social networks offer free accounts.
NOTE: Only one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period is permitted. If it is discovered that any person has attempted to use: (i) more than one (1) social media account during the Contest Period; and/or (ii) multiple names, or identities to enter the Contest; then (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor) he/she may be disqualified from the Contest and all of his/her entries voided. Use (or attempted use) of multiple names, identities, social media accounts and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other systems(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or disrupt this Contest is prohibited and is grounds for disqualification by the Contest Sponsor.
In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on a social media account, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the email address at the time of entry.
Multiple entries, i.e., those that exceed the permitted amount, will be discarded. In the event that the Contest Sponsor receives more than the permitted number of entries, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to void and destroy any entries from that entrant, and that entrant may, at the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsor, be disqualified from the Contest. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
4. WINNER SELECTION
The Winner of the Grand Prize will be chosen by an independent adjudicator or panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor.
The Contest Sponsor will attempt to contact the potential Grand Prize winner within five (5) business days of judging by telephone and/or email and/or DM on Instagram or Facebook (the method selected in Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion). If the Potential Prize Winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within five (5) business days of notification, the Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
The Sponsor is not responsible for any lost, late, illegible, incomplete, falsified, destroyed, or failed entries, or for any electronic miscommunications or failures of any kind, which may limit an entrant’s ability to participate in this Contest. Proof of submitting an entry is not proof of receipt by Sponsor. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Any and all lost, late, illegible, incomplete, falsified, destroyed, or failed entries will be disqualified. No purchase is necessary to enter or win, and a purchase will not increase the odds of your winning.
5. THE GRAND PRIZE AND GRAND PRIZE VALUE
One (1) Prize of a CDN$500 Farrow & Ball package will be available to be one as The Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize is as follows:
- Three (3) Gallons of Farrow & Ball Paint and two (2) Gallons of Farrow & Ball Primer, valued at $500.
The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
The chance of being selected will depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
6. DEADLINE FOR CLAIMING THE GRAND PRIZE
Following confirmation as the Grand Prize winner in accordance with the Contest Rules, the selected entrant will be given instructions and a deadline as to how he/she must claim the Grand Prize. The potential Prize winner will be notified by email and/or DM on Instagram/Facebook and/or letter within five (5) business days of the closing date. The potential Prize winner, who fails either to claim the Prize or to inform the Contest Sponsor of his/her inability to claim the Prize before the deadline, as instructed, may be required to forfeit the Grand Prize and another eligible entrant may be selected in Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion. In this event, the prize will be awarded to an alternate entrant, who will be selected from among the remaining eligible entries. Any alternate winner will have the same rights and obligations as the original winner. To claim a prize, a potential winner must comply with the Official Rules for this Contest, must correctly answer unaided a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by Sponsor and must fill out and return a Declaration and Release, including a Publicity Release, within five (5) days of his/her being informed of his/her name being drawn. Prizes must be picked up by confirmed winners.
7. PRIZE CONDITIONS
All Prize elements are subject to availability and substitution for a prize of equal or greater value, to be decided in the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsor. The Prize winner shall not seek reimbursement for the Expenses from the Contest Sponsor.
8. ODDS OF WINNING
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
9. NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES
The Contest Sponsor does not make any representation nor offer any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of the Prize awarded in connection with the Contest. The Prize winner understands and acknowledges that he/she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from the Contest Sponsor should the Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory to the Prize winners.
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. No cash or other substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Return of any prize notification as non-deliverable or failure to comply with the Official Rules will result in disqualification, and an alternate entrant may be randomly selected in accordance with the Official Rules. All taxes for prizes are the sole responsibility of the individual winners.
10. DECLARATION AND RELEASE OF THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER
Before being awarded the Grand Prize, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited skill-testing mathematical question and must sign a standard form Declaration and Release of Liability (the “Release Forms”) confirming that by entering the Contest:
- he or she read, understood and accepted these Contest Rules;
- that he or she freely and voluntarily agrees and does hereby assume any and all risks arising out of or connected with his or her participation in the Contest and winning the Grand Prize;
- he or she accepts the terms of the publicity release as contemplated by section 14 below, and
- that he or she releases, discharges, indemnifies and holds harmless, the Contest Sponsor, the Affiliates, the prize providers, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, independent contractors, representatives, licensors and agents as well as their respective advertising, media and promotional agencies (collectively, the “Releasees”) from and against any and all liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the Prize, or in connection with participation in this Contest or a Contest-related activity, including, without limitation, any financial, legal or moral responsibility or loss or personal injury including death or damage to or loss of property suffered or incurred or arising from participating in the Contest or accepting the Prize, whether suffered by the Prize winner, or by his or her heirs, administrators, personal representatives or executors, and notwithstanding that such injuries or losses may have been caused solely or partly by any act, omission, negligence or gross negligence of any or all of the Releasees. Release Forms will be emailed to the potential Prize winner at the email address provided on his/her Contest entry form. The Prize will only be awarded upon (a) verification of the answer to the skill-testing question and (b) return of the fully executed Release Forms to the email or fax number provided to the Prize winner. Failure to return a signed Release Form as instructed by the Contest Sponsor may result in disqualification, to be determined in Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion.
11. PRIZE SUBSTITUTION
The Prize portions are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-refundable, have no cash surrender value and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, except as may be decided by Contest Sponsor in their sole and absolute discretion. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to substitute and/or modify the Prize, or prize portion, with a prize(s) of equal or greater value for any reason. Should the Prize winner be unable to claim his/her Prize or prize portion as awarded, his/her rights to the Prize or prize portion may be forfeited and another entrant may be selected, to be determined in Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Subject to applicable law, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate and/or modify the Contest Rules or administration of the Contest, in whole or in part, without prior notice with no obligation or liability, including, if for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, whether due to technical failure, tampering, fraud, corruption of security or other causes beyond the control of the Contest Sponsor. The Releasees are not responsible or liable to any entrant or winner or any person claiming through such entrant or winner for failure to supply the Grand Prize or any part thereof, by reason of any acts of God, any action, regulation, order or request by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action, regulations, order or request proves to be invalid), equipment failure, threatened terrorist acts, terrorists acts, air raid, blackout, act of public enemy, earthquake, volcanic eruption, tsunami, war (declared or undeclared), fire, flood, epidemic, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labour dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal), labour or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slowdown, civil disturbance, insurrection, riot, performers’ illness, injury or death, or any other cause beyond the Releasees’ sole control.
13. OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES
All entries shall become the property of the Contest Sponsor and their advertising and promotional agencies. The Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, destroyed or otherwise indecipherable entries due to any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone network, on-line computer systems, equipment, servers, access providers, software, poor reception, technical problems, failure of any email or submission or due to any other reason regardless of cause.
14. PUBLICITY RELEASE
Each entrant who wins a prize consents to the use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, video, voice, likeness, image or any other aspect of his or her personality for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise related to the Contest, or Contest Sponsor and their products and services, throughout the world, in all media, in perpetuity, by the Contest Sponsor, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies, without any obligation, notice, payment or compensation. Such consent shall also be included in the Release Form that the Prize winner signs, as set out above.
15. CONSENT TO COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Sponsor that corrupts, impairs or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend the Contest and/or Grand Prize. The Contest Sponsor further reserves the right to disqualify, from this Contest and future contests of the Contest Sponsor, any individual who tampers with or in any way corrupts the entry process. The Contest Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Contest, future contests of the Contest Sponsor and/or winning a prize(s) if, in the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion, the Contest Sponsor determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or any unlawful or unfair playing practices relating to the Contest (including but not limited to the use of automated quick entry programs), prize(s), or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or the Contest Sponsor’s representatives. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages (including lawyers’ fees) from any such entrant or any other individual to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
17. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees that the Releasees shall have no liability and shall be held harmless by the entrant for any damage, loss or liability to person or property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of entering the Contest, the acceptance, possession, use, enjoyment or misuse of the Prize, or while preparing for, participating in any Contest-related or Prize-related activity. The Releasees are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, fraud, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by any of the Releasees, users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions that may cause damage to a user’s system or limit a potential entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest.

19. COMPLIANCE WITH CONTEST RULES
All entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules, which are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsor.
This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. THIS CONTEST IS GOVERNED SOLELY BY THE LAWS OF NOVA SCOTIA AND THE LAWS OF CANADA APPLICABLE THEREIN, AND ANY DISPUTES UNDER THESE RULES OR RELATED TO THIS CONTEST ARE SUBJECT SOLELY TO THE COURTS OF NOVA SCOTIA SITTING AT HALIFAX.
The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
Oak Leaf Interiors Inc. will judge the competition and decide on the winner at the end of the Contest Period, which will be picked from all complete entries via Instagram and Facebook.
The Sponsor’s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.
The entrant must be following Oak Leaf Interiors and Farrow & Ball on Facebook or Instagram in order to enter.
The Sponsor shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
The Sponsor also reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control.
